Managing Director & Board Member, USA
1989 - 1995
In December, 1989, became the Managing Director of VitraNA.
In 1990, Vitra USA was launched, which along with support from VitraAG, got the brand going in North America.
In November, 1989, the Vitra Design Museum designed by Frank Gehry opened in Weil am Rhine, Germany. The museum housed much of the Charles and Ray Eames furniture archives, featured shows on the world’s greatest designers and furniture history.
Leveraging the Museum’s excitement was a part of our US plan by offering a wonderful miniature chair collection to museums around the country for sale in their gift shops. This lead to national name recognition within the design community for Vitra.
